Toronto Zoo Sketch Trip

This May, our students ventured out of the studio and into nature with a special sketching trip to the zoo.

Surrounded by diverse wildlife, students observed animal anatomy, posture, and movement in real time—translating their observations into dynamic sketches and visual studies. The session encouraged close looking, quick gesture drawing, and a deeper understanding of natural form and character.

More than just a field trip, this experience blended art education with scientific observation, helping students strengthen their drawing skills while connecting more closely with the natural world.
